As part of our growth, we are seeking a high-performing Business Development Representative to drive net-new business and expand our presence in key markets.

Role Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for generating new business for RockTeam’s technology consulting, managed services (MSP), and related technology and engineering solutions. This is a hands-on sales role that requires a strong hunter mentality, comfort in moderately complex technical environments, and the ability to execute effective prospecting, discovery, and solution positioning. The ideal candidate has a proven track record selling technology consulting and MSP services and is confident working independently as well as within cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities for RockTeam’s technology consulting, MSP, and engineering-related solutions.
  • Execute outbound campaigns (phone, email, social, events) to build a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand client business drivers, technical environments, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with RockTeam consultants and technical teams to shape solution proposals and present value-based recommendations.
  • Manage and advance opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial contact and qualification through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Deliver and support product and solution demonstrations, including basic setup and configuration of moderately complex equipment and environments.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and forecast information in the CRM system.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision makers and influencers at target accounts.
  • Represent RockTeam at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, primarily within domestic and regional markets.
  • Provide feedback from the field to help refine RockTeam’s offerings, messaging, and go-to-market strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience in technology consulting, MSP, or related technology services, with a demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding quota.
  • Proven experience selling into technical and business stakeholders within mid-market or enterprise accounts.
  • Comfort operating in moderately complex technology environments and performing basic setups and demonstrations of solutions and equipment.
  • Strong self-motivation, disciplined work habits, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts in business terms.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and regionally as needed for client meetings and events.
  • Must be able to commute regularly to our office in Newtown Square, PA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, computer science, information technology, or related technical discipline (equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Experience selling managed services, consulting engagements, and project-based solutions involving infrastructure, collaboration platforms, or engineering/technical environments.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise technologies (e.g., cloud platforms, collaboration tools, networking, security) and how they translate into business value.
  • Experience using modern sales tools and CRM platforms to manage pipelines and campaigns.
